WHAT IS 52 UP CLOSE?

A live 90-minute one man show starring Pittsburgh's own Lee Terbosic that combines the art of magic, sleight of hand and mind reading into a dazzling close-up performance inches away from the audience. The show is held in the beautiful Roberto Clemente Suite on the first floor of The Kimpton Hotel Monaco in downtown Pittsburgh. There are only 52 seats available for each show & only 52 chances to catch the show each year.

WHO IS LEE TERBOSIC?

Lee Terbosic is a nationally touring magician, comedian, creator, actor, daredevil and entertainer from Pittsburgh, PA. Over the past two decades he's headlined across the country at Universities, for Fortune 500 Companies, appeared on National TV and amazed some of Hollywood's biggest celebrities like Aaron Paul, Wiz Khalifa, Andy Grammer and Jack Black. In 2015 he was named the Magician of the Year by The Association of the Promotion of Campus Activities and at noon on November 6th, 2016 Lee performed Houdini 100 a tribute to Harry Houdini’s upside-down straight jacket escape in downtown Pittsburgh from 1916. On that afternoon Lee successfully linked a moment in time while hanging 100 feet above thousands of spectators with his performance of the very dangerous upside-down straight jacket escape 100 years to the minute and at the same Pittsburgh city corner as Harry Houdini did when he performed his escape at noon on November 6th, 1916. (www.Houdini100.com) In 2019 Lee stared in the Discovery Science Channel series “Houdini’s Last Secrets” which featured Lee traveling around the world with George Hardeen the grand nephew of Harry Houdini with them uncovering incredible secrets about the Houdini family and his amazing magic. Lee is put to the test and attempts some of Houdini’s deadliest stunts including The Bullet Catch, Buried Alive Escape and the Water Torture Cell Escape. In 2021 Lee appeared on The History Channel’s series “Histories Greatest Mysteries” Houdini’s Diary a documentary that explores in depth the most iconic moments of Harry Houdini’s life explained by some of magic’s biggest names.

HOW LONG IS THE SHOW?

Each performance is approximately 90 minutes in length with no intermission. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime.

DRESS ATTIRE?

52 Up Close dress code is cocktail, business attire & casual dressy. Dress to impress... you just might become part of the show.

FOR HOW LONG WILL THE SHOW BE RUNNING?

52 Up Close debuted at Hotel Monaco on October Friday the 13th 2017 and has no end date set.

Yes only 52 performances each year and only 52 seats in each show…seeing the theme yet? Get tickets soon as they have a tendency to disappear very fast.

ARE FOOD AND DRINK INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE TICKET?

No, but a show-infused drink menu is available outside the theater before and during each show. Reservations for The Commoner can be made for before and after shows or visit the Biergarten on the top floor is always a popular spot after shows in the summer.  

ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED?

 52 Up Close is recommend for ages 18 and over. (no one under 13 admitted)

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RESERVED & GENERAL SEATING

52 Up Close only has 52 seats in its theater with rows 1-2 being reserved ticketed seating. This guarantees the closest view and chance to become part of the performance. General seating are rows 3-6 and are sat accoriding to arrival at check in. 

CAN I TAKE PHOTOS? 

Yes! Before and after each show but photography or video filming is strictly prohibited during the performance. 

PARKING OPTIONS

Yes, we offer valet parking or suggest using the Mellon Square Parking Garage at 6th and William Penn Place.

DINING OPTIONS

You can make dinner reservations with The Commoner for before and after shows.

CAN’T MAKE IT?

All sales are final but tickets may be transferred to other parties. Guests should check in at the show doors under the name of the original ticket purchaser.
